Come join us for a ride

Welcome to Metro Valley Chapter 067 of the Southern Cruisers Riding Club, this chapter is led by 1st Officer Frank Stull, and 2nd Officer Robert Krauer, who go out of their way to encourage member participation and to ensure that every ride is both fun and safe.  During the riding season, there is one official ride or meeting scheduled each month plus rides most weekends, and rotates between a north, south, east, and west starting point. Talk about convenient! There are also numerous smaller rides during the week, which are organized and communicated through their on line forums. The forums are an excellent way to stay in touch with fellow members, seek information and advice, and to voice your opinion on various topics of interest.

A little history about the chapter
Southern chapter 067 was already active in 1998 when Jeffrey Cooper (Coop) was 1st officer of the chapter, and  for a while Coop held state officer position for our fine state of West Virginia, below is a picture of the chapter taken around 2002 while on a chapter ride.  I'm not sure when Coop stepped down from state officer position but, in 2006 he ask to step down from Southern chapter 067 1st officer position.  In April  2006  1st officer position was awarded to Frank Stull of Huntington, WV.

In 2008 our neighboring state of Ohio, SCRC had chapter 119 go inactive and the few members that were a part of that chapter has the option to transfer into our chapter, also in Kentucky the Ashland chapter has been inactive for some time now so we get members from Kentucky as well.

chapter name change

In 2008 Southern Cruisers riding club West Virginia's Southern chapter 067 went through a name change, the southern part of the name was very misleading as we are not in the southern part of the state, we are however in the Metro valley area of the state so a name change was requested through state officer and national officers.  As of November 2008 we are known as West Virginia's

What is it like to ride with Metro Valley chapter 067 ?

Well now, to tell you the truth everyone will have different experiences on each ride but, all of our members and guest will I'm sure agree the rides will be wonderful, with beautiful scenery and some roads that will keep you working the controls through a few portions of the ride, and if twisty is what your looking for, we got them and from time to time we'll ride several areas that include twisties on our many chapter rides.  Visit our video page and you'll see some of the roads that this chapter will be riding.

I'm looking forward to 2010 ride season with more areas to travel and places to visit and to think about he people that we'll meet and friends that will tag along to make a days ride a wonderful ride and a wonderful day, what awesome thoughts I have.

We go many places on our day rides and you know we got to stop for fuel for the body as well as the bike, (hey we gotta eat so we'll look for an interesting place to fulfill the needs of the day and stop for a spell, some places are worth a return visit and some are not.

We'll ride the Midland trail US-60 to one of many state or county routes throughout the state, or maybe route 2 along the river and find a county road that will lead us across one ridge after another now you talk about a view that's what you get on most any ridge
within the state of WV. and we even travel southeast out of Huntington on route 10 and route 3 going toward Danville and Madison area for route 119 and so on.

We ride some of the best roads that the tri-state has to offer and with three states to choose from that can make for some Fun Fun Fun.
